For diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) in adults, the maximum recommended dose is 300 mg/day, starting with 150 mg/day and gradually increasing. For postherpetic neuralgia (PHN), the recommended dose is 150-300 mg/day, which can be increased up to 600 mg/day for those not achieving sufficient pain relief. For fibromyalgia, the dose is 300-450 mg/day, starting at 150 mg/day. For neuropathic pain due to spinal cord injury, the dose ranges from 150-600 mg/day.
Conversion from Pregabalin capsules to Pregabalin CR tablets: On the day of conversion, take the usual morning dose of Pregabalin capsules and start Pregabalin CR after dinner. If you miss a dose, follow the specific instructions regarding timing and meals to ensure the correct dose.
Pregaben CR tablets should be taken orally, with or without food, after the evening meal. They should be swallowed whole and not crushed or chewed. If you miss a dose, follow the guidelines for when to take it based on your next meal time. When stopping the medication, it should be gradually tapered over a minimum of one week.
Pregaben CR is unlikely to have significant interactions with other drugs.
Common side effects include dizziness, sleepiness, dry mouth, swelling, blurred vision, weight gain, and difficulty concentrating. In children, increased weight and appetite may occur when used for seizures.
